How to play Ordinary World, Option 1 - start here, then move down and play the song along with the next videos

This page will help you play the song Ordinary World.

In your guitar lesson, you will have looked at option 1 or option 2 to play this song.

If you can’t remember, start with option 1.

If that feels very easy, go to option 2.

When you’ve reviewed your part, play along with the third video where I am calling out the notes we are playing as we get to them. The first few times you do this, I’d recommend slowing it down by clicking through to youtube, clicking on the gear wheel and choosing 0.75 for speed. Ask someone for help if you’re not sure how to do this. Play along with the slow version, and then work towards playing it at the original speed. It’s fine if this takes a few days.

When you are used to playing it, move to the next video where I am singing the song. The challenge here will be to keep your place, but if you played along with the video where I called out the names, you will recognise how the different sections sound, and it will be easier to get back in the right place if you get lost.

Everyone gets lost to begin with! The more you get used to playing along with me the easier it will become.

How to play Ordinary World, option 2. Review your part with this video and then play along with the guide video below. Rewind it if you need to and you can also slow the video down.

Play along with cues and guide - I'll tell you which note we're on and we'll play all the way through. You can slow this down first before trying it at the original speed.

Play along with the song and lyrics. Play it slowly on youtube first as many times as you need to before playing it at the original speed.
